The Stable Yard House

The Stable Yard House is located in the stable courtyard garden and provides accommodation for up to 8 people seeking a luxury hideaway holiday rental in Kildare

Decorated in James and Jo’s unique style, it’s a beautiful, characterful house full of family art and antiques, and was their first home when they married and they moved back to Burtown. It has an old-world feel and cosy touches like open fires, wood burning stoves and an Aga in the kitchen, but with all you need for contemporary living, such as wifi throughout.

The house is fully kitted-out and comes serviced and ready to go. It’s suitable for up to 6 people staying in three bedrooms. There are two large bathrooms with double ended baths, a separate large rain shower, as well as a separate downstairs cloakroom. There is a stylish kitchen with an Aga, old glass-fronted cabintes, thick wooden counters and everything you need to get cooking, you can even order fresh produce from the gardens. With a high-ceilinged dining room (once the mare’s stable) and a super comfy sitting room, the house is spacious and lightfilled.

The separate Studio Apartment can sleep two people and can be booked with The Stable Yard House, increasing parties to 8 people or more. All guests of the Stable Yard have 24/7 access to the gardens.

Master Bedroom

The Master Bedroom is large and bright, facing south, with a super king bed and an ensuite bathroom. It has a collection of Wendy Walsh botanical prints, and life drawings by Lesley Fennell.

Bella & Mimi's Room

This is a light airy room with twin beds, interesting art and antique furnishing. There is a stylish bathroom with a rain shower and double ended bath and heated floor on the adjoining landing.

Hidden Room

This room is located behind a bookcase off the sitting room and has a wall of rustic wood and a fourposter bed. It is on the ground floor, is south facing with a stable door to a terrace. It shares a bathroom with Bella and Mimi’s room which boasts a rain shower and double ended bath.

The Stable Yard Studio Apartment

The Studio Apartment can be booked separate, or with the Stable Yard House, and has views to the orchard and walled kitchen garden. Its doors open to the south-facing stable yard garden which is surrounded by walls, giving it a secluded Provencal feel.

A Stylish Rural Retreat

It has high ceilings with large windows, great views and plenty of natural light. There is a mezzanine with an open fire with a private sitting area overlooking the surrounding gardens. With a large rustic dining table, a large collection of interior magazines, interesting books and a cool Marshall sound system, it is the perfect place to chill out and enjoy all that is on offer.

The interiors have a modern contemporary feel with wooden floors, polished concrete stairs and bathroom, a large rustic four poster bed and oversized bookshelves. There is a shower room and a small kitchenette, but there are no cooking facilities. It comes equipped with a Nespresso machine, kettle and toaster and plenty of good teas, homemade granola and all that its necessary for in-room dining which can be ordered from The Green Barn.

The stable yard garden is full of tall lavender and colourful potted plants with a large double serpentine hedge. This is further surrounded by 10 acres of flowers and woodland gardens, kitchen gardens, sculpture park and wildflower meadows.
